Christmas with you

(John Worsham)
February 10, 2012
John Worsham
A couple telling their families they're busy over the holidays so they can spend it with each other.
I’ve called all the folks back home and told them that I can’t get away
They think that I’m on my own on a lonesome holiday
Now you and I know that’s not quite true
But I want to spend some time with you
Cause there’s nothing that I’d rather do
Than be with you on Christmas day

I don’t care if it snows – I don’t care if it’s raining -
You won’t hear me complaining,
As long as I have Christmas with you.

And I know you’ve got family too, expecting you to show up as well.
And even though all your girlfriends knew, I only hope that they didn’t tell.
We carefully planned a yuletide plot,
And did our very best to not get caught.
I’m just so happy that we finally got
A chance to have a secret “Noel”.

I don’t care if it snows – I don’t care if it freezes
I only hope that nobody sees us,
Cause I want to spend my Christmas with you.

We’ll visit our families when we’re done,
And wish a Merry Christmas to everyone.
But we won’t let them spoil all the fun that we get to have all alone.

I don’t care if it snows – I don’t care if it’s sleeting
I’ve told you, but it still bears repeating –
I want to spend my Christmas with you.

Baby, just hold me close – let’s enjoy the time that’s remaining
Soon we’ll have to do some explaining
Why we spent our Christmas together, it’s true.
Wherever we go or whatever we do,
I want to spend my Christmas with you.
